This year, Rachel and I decided to try Project Life. We're hoping it's easier than keeping up with P365. So far, for the most part, so good -- yes, I have skipped two weeks so far, but I don't feel guilty about it and for me, that's important -- I don't want to just haphazardly put a page together "just because."
I also have varied the amount of journaling. For me, many times, the photos speak for themselves. Since I realized at the end of 2011 that I hadn't taken as many photos, whether daily life or events, as previous years, the photos are the most important thing to me. The cute stuff Kaitlyn does, random shots of Mark and myself. That's what I need to do :-).
Okay, so I probably should be posting my Project Life pages weekly, if not monthly, and I'll try to do a better job at it, but here's what I have so far...
There it is, a snapshot of our life over the past 1 1/2 months.
Sadly, I lost two extended family members so far this year...a cousin and an uncle. NOT what I wanted to have to document.
On another note, we've been having some rather unseasonably warm weather this winter, so I'm excited about the outdoor photos...drawing with chalk one week with no coat on and snow the next.
What I've Been Using For Project Life:
The main "core" kit I've been using for my Project Life photos is the Clementine Digital Kit by Becky Higgisn, available at Jessica Sprague . com. I've also used random elements, etc. from my own collection of products.
Now, I'm a big "sheet protector/pockets" gal -- I love that look from the Paper versions of Project Life, so I've created my own to go with each template...if you look close enough, you'll see the transition of these -- more and more detail, etc.
Lastly, on the pockets & templates, you'll note that the week ending Feb. 4 looks a little different -- for that week, I used this great pocket template I picked up from Traci Reed -- I figure I'll use that every few weeks or so. Again, totally love the pockets.
There are plenty of Project Life digital products out there, from the fantastic collections by Becky to miscellaneous items available at just about every digital store you can find...hey, even I created something, which I used this week (and plan to create more to truly personalize my pages). If you're looking to supplement your digital stash, you have to check out The Lily Pad for sure -- I've got many of the items on my Wish List...can't wait to start picking them up :-).
So far, I'm glad to be doing this project -- it totally helps to have a friend doing with with me (Thanks, Rachel) -- I've even started to think about maybe doing the paper version next year...really get my hands dirty.
Enjoy & Happy Scrapping!
