I'm feeling really good today -- well this whole weekend, actually -- slowly checking off a much of minor to-do items...basically the stuff I can do with little to no expense.
Including a Valentine's Day set-up for my fireplace mantle.
Yeah, I have to work around the TV, but overall I'm happy with it...
Let's talk details...
The banner is my Printable Banner available at Etsy. I decided to just do the one word, due to the size, although the whole banner for sale would be great for a Valentine's Day Party...
The only $$ expense here, other than printer ink & paper was mini clothespins and the styrofoam cone (to the left) that I covered with punched out circles of Valentine's Day Paper -- got it all really cheap at Wal-Mart -- I'd say that project only cost about $3.00.
Over on that side of the TV, I also have an old photo of K's first Valentine's Day, a Precious Moments figurine (don't look too close, it's a Happy Birthday figurine, but, hey -- she's holding a heart), a more recent photo of K (a craft she brought home from school last year) and a July Teddy Bear...
Let me tell you, when working on Valentine's Day, what a benefit to have a birthday in July -- a.k.a. Ruby Baby! Oh, yeah, and red is my favorite color, so I'm all for V-Day decor ;-)...
To the right, we have a Valentine's Day Subway Art Framed, found HERE (note to self: spray paint that frame black or buy a new one), July Precious Moments Doll and another figurine, this time one holding Heart cookies.
And lastly, back to the banner...printed on cardstock, laminated and hung on twine with little mini clothespins. Each end is flanked by some leftover red glittered ribbon from Christmas.
There you have it -- my Valentine's Day Mantle...a little early (or so my hubby and daughter say), but so be it -- I'm happy ;-).
(additional notes for self: really want to do something with the fireplace -- totally scrub down the brick and/or paint it and the mantle white/black. And really...clean the air conditioner -- I'm embarrassed to note in these photos that it's an area that still need sto be dusted...)
Enjoy!
